General Public Users
Is the price fully inclusive?
Yes. The price you see is the price you pay. A refundable deposit is payable.
Is there a deposit to pay?
Yes £100
Is insurance fully comprehensive or third party?
Fully comprehensive
Can I provide my own insurance?
Yes but this facility is available only to companies and discount would then apply
What is the insurance excess?
In the event of a claim you are responsible for the first £500 of that claim.
Can I reduce the insurance excess?
You can reduce the insurance excess to £100 by payment of £10 per day plus VAT but this must be declared at commencement of hire.
What time can I pick up and return vehicles?
All Hires start and end at 9am. All vehicles must be returned by 9am on the return day.
Are the vehicles collected and returned fuelled?
No. Our policy on fuel is “Go out empty and return empty”.
Are there any mileage charges?
No provided you are not likely to do more than 150 miles in a day. Mileage charge on 1day hire is 10p per mile after 150. No mileage charges apply to any hire period over 1 day.
Where do I collect the vehicle?
You can collect your chosen vehicle from our conveniently located city centre base. For corporate clients we can arrange delivery and collection.
Can Bank View deliver the vehicle to me?
Not general public. You will need to collect to complete documentation
Can I return the vehicle outside opening hours?
No. Our site is secured and vehicles must be returned within our opening hours.
Are there age restrictions on the hire?
Yes. Drivers must be aged between 25 and 70 years.
I have recently passed my test is it a problem?
Yes you must have held a full licence for minimum 2 years
I do not have a UK licence!
We can only hire to holders of a full UK licence
What if I have convictions on my licence?
Minor convictions are unlikely to be a problem but please declare all convictions and we will endeavour to assist.
I have a new licence but I can’t find the green paper section what is the procedure?
Provided you have the Pink card it is possible to get clearance by telephone call from the DVLA but they charge for the information and we pass the charge on to you. The charge is £5 plus VAT
I don’t have a passport?
Then we will accept any formal secondary form of photographic ID
My passport is out of date?
The passport does not have to be valid
All my utility bills are now on line so I don’t have one?
We require formal documentation showing the same address as your licence. Bank statements or similar are acceptable.
Can we have more than one driver?
Yes. Any additional drivers must meet our strict criteria, attend our offices and complete and sign our documentation prior to driving our vehicle. Additional drivers are chargeable at £10 per driver per day plus VAT
What if I breakdown?
Full breakdown is cover included. Procedure can be found on the vehicle sun visor.
Business Users – Benefits of Hire
I want to hire for 24/60 months.
No problem. We offer extremely competitive rates for a commitment of 24/60 months.
I need a more flexible hire solution.
We offer the option of Flexible Hire. Usually based on medium or long-term period but none contractual.
What if the vehicles don’t match my needs?
We will purchase to meet your specifications and requirements.
Benefits of Fleet Management and Contract Hire
What are the financial benefits?
You are able to budget all your operating costs easily with a fixed rate for a fixed period. You continue to hold your own capital and can budget your costs from income. There are no capital outlays allowing you to invest your capital back into your business. It’s also tax efficient counting as off balance sheet funding.
Are there operational benefits?
Yes. Fleet management and contract hire releases manpower because we take responsibility for your fleet management. We also control maintenance, servicing, repairs, MOT’s and even RFL making the process hassle free!
What are the service benefits?
We offer a replacement vehicle during the time your contract vehicle is off the road for servicing etc. This means the minimum interruption to your business. Full roadside response is provided to keep you moving! We can supply specialist equipment where required and we can arrange for your company livery to be applied to the vehicle. We offer the flexibility to change the vehicle type in line with your business needs.
